Contemporary India was edited by Baba Pyare Lal Bedi and Freda Marie Houlston Bedi, and published by Contemporary India in Lahore. The journal was published from 1935 to 1937 (Vol. 1 to Vol. 3, Nos. 2-3).

The first two issues of Contemporary India carried the subtitle A Quarterly Review of Indian Affairs, which was then changed to A National Quarterly.
