Hindustan Review

(1905-1954, Allahabad)

The Hindustan Review continued the → Hindustan Review and Kayastha Samachar (1903-1905) and the → Kayastha Samachar (1899-1902) and was published from 1905 to 1954 (starting with Vol. 12). It was published monthly from 1905 to June 1922, quarterly from October 1922 to April 1929, and then monthly again from July 1929. It was founded and edited by Sachchidananda Sinha and published by the Indian Press in Allahabad.

  • The October 1928 issue is numbered Vol. 51, No. 298 [Vol. 52]
  • The 1933 volume is designated with the non-existing Roman numeral “LVIV” [Vol. 59]. The 1933-1934 volume, which should be Vol. 60, is designated with the non-existing numeral “LVX”. The 1934-1935 volume is designated with the Roman numeral “LXVI” for Vol. 66.
From 1921 onwards, the Hindustan Review carried the subtitle India’s Journal of Sociology, Politics and Literature.
